Description of the Slate/Olive Comparadun - Fly:
The Blue Winged Olive Comparadun is a favorite for selective trout when buoyancy and visibility are considerations. Some fly fishing guides go straight to comparaduns when a BWO mayfly hatch attracts rising trout. This fly pattern floats in all but the fastest and roughest stream currents and selective trout seem to prefer this fly to many of the traditional hackled dry flies. Fly fishers around the world should consider this a staple fly where Blue Winged Olive mayflies are present.
