Description of the Curtis Fleming Signature Series - Rods:

Temple Fork Outfitters is proud to join television celebrity Curtis Fleming in introducing the new Fly Rod Chronicles series fly rods. Curtis is well known as an ambassador for the sport of fly fishing. His integrity and passion for teaching have allowed him to introduce our sport to new anglers all over the world.

Designed by Curtis and with the help of Lefty Kreh, this series of fly rods will cover most of the fishing opportunities that exist throughout the world. FRC series rods are translucent moss green with matching graphite inserts, gold up-locking reel seats, and gold accents. Reverse half-wells grips on the 3-6 and full wells grips with fighting butts on the 7-8 & 10.

Product Details

3-Weight - The perfect rod for chasing brook trout in my home state of West Virginia. We chose to give it that finesse touch for the streams off the beaten trail, but enough back-bone to fight the occasional lunker when needed. This is also the rod that you want to take with you when fishing for pan fish in your favorite farm ponds.

4-Weight - This rod was specifically tailored to fish for the hard-fighting Rainbows that live in the Rose River. The weather can be unpredictable in Madison County during the winter months, but this rod will step up to throwing that dry fly across the stream pockets or high-sticking the Rose River Special through some of the deeper pools.

5-Weight - This rod is my “go-to” rod…whether I am fishing for rainbows in the Appalachians or Cutthroats in the Rockies. The rod was designed for pin-point accuracy for the professional caster to place that dry fly where it is needed or the perfect rod for the beginner to improve their casting ability.

6-Weight - The FRC 6 Wt. rod is my “go-to” rod for Small Mouth, it is perfect for double hauling those Big Poppers or Clouser Minnows. When the wind is working against you, our FRC 6 Wt. was designed to add a little more power to your game. It still has the smooth casting stroke for dry fly use, but the perfect rod to throw a Streamer or Woolley Booger.

7-Weight - My first Bone-Fish was caught on this rod in Belize and is the perfect flats rod, not only for casting at these finicky fish, but for fighting and wearing them down. Closer to home, the FRC 7 Wt. is also the perfect rod for fighting Chesapeake Bay schoolie Stripers and Bluefish. It is a Great all around light weight saltwater or heavy weight freshwater rod.

8-Weight - If you are looking for a rod that you can take up to New Brunswick, Canada on the Miramichi and fight the elusive Atlantic Salmon or take to the Caribbean to land Permit, this 8 Wt was build and designed to conquer all of these fish. On one trip in Canada we caught 7 different species of fish…the 8 Wt. FRC Rod is my #1 choice, if I only had one rod to pack.

10-Weight - We put all the “meat and potatoes” in this rod for those hard fighting Tarpon and Snook. Not only will it get that Tarpon Toad Fly where you need it, this rod is up for the challenge of wearing down these fish in the mangroves.

Pros: This Rod Rules! I like the 5 wt because i can take it to our Limestone Trout Creeks and the next day take it out to the farm ponds and pound Largemouth. Can chuck heavy streamers and the smallest dry flies with ease and accuracy. Easy rod to handle and looks great too.
Cons: None so far

Pros: I really like this 5 wt rod, delicate tip yet heavy enough to land a trophy trout. The and finish actually are what i see on some of my rods costing twice as much.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Curtis Fleming's work with Healing waters is very commendable that is why i bought this rod, getting such a great rod is a huge bonus.

Pros: This rod has a very nice action and good balance. Casting with this rod is easy and I have added at least 10 yards to my casting distance. This has quickly become my go to rod despite my other rods costing twice as much as this one. Good quality of build and the rod looks good too.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I had heard TFO made good rods but found it hard to believe because of their lower pricing. This rod proves that you can purchase a very good quality fly rod without spending a fortune. Riverbum were also great to deal with, thanks.

Cons: I wish i had more of the Curtis Fleming -Fly Rod Chronicles Rods instead of just one at this point !!
Other Thoughts: All serious fly fishermen need to buy a couple of these great rods.
