Pros: I fish for Smallmouth Bass on Lac La Croix, in Canada every year. If I had one fly to take for Smallmouth it would be the Frog, Diving Bug. I can't even begin to tell you the amount of bass taken on this gem. It serves as a popper, and also will dive with each strong retrieve. I present it on the water with a pop, then let it sit. I might or might not get a hit, yet often do. When all the rings from the initial pop are gone, I pull on my line to pop it. I often pick up a bass or pike at this stage. From there I will take it in quicker creating a swimming motion and if a bass has been looking at it, forget it! Bam, we are on. I caught an 18", and two 17"+ bass in three casts last year. Many twenty fish and more days with this beauty. |

Cons: The downside of this fly is it only lasts around 40 good fights. A little less if a Northern Pike gets a hold of it. I am serious. |

Other Thoughts: It is a beautiful bug to cast and watch. |
