G. Loomis Xperience Series Fly Rods - Rods | Large

Description of the G. Loomis Xperience Series Fly Rods - Rods:

Xperience fly rods are a complete range of high performance/high value, graphite travel rods. We use our proprietary "fiber blend technology", incorporating some of the same high modulus materials found in many "top-of-the-line" rods to keep the weight down and the performance level as high as possible. We created dynamic tapers that mirror much more expensive rods to give anglers smooth, effortless casting. We used components that optimize performance versus price. Performance and affordability is the hallmark of this series. The lighter rods, 3 thru 6-weight, feature medium-fast to fast tapers with medium to medium-stiff power-ratings that create high line speeds for accuracy and control. They have relatively soft tips to protect light tippets and our "progressive power taper" technology generates a lot of distance when needed. As we move up into the higher line sizes, 8-weights and higher, where anglers want more distance and power for bigger fish, bigger water and greater challenges, we've speeded up the tapers and made the rods stiffer. Handsome, with a rich, olive-brown finish these rods have a black, anodized aluminum reel seat with skeleton fish graphic that's adaptable to both fresh and saltwater applications. They feature chromed snake guides and Fuji stripper guides and each rod comes in a soft, protective rod sock with travel case. These may be one of our best kept secrets.

A crisp, light-duty fly rod designed for casting small flies with light tippets. It's a good choice for narrow, brush-lined streams where you don't have a lot of room to cast. It's designed for making short, quick casts to pocket water and seams. It doubles nicely for crappie and bluegill when float tubing.

Pros: G. Loomis Experience 8 Wt. I was pleasently surprized by the lightness and balance of of this rod loaded with an 8 WFF. It is not a fast rod, but neither is it a slow one. One could cast this rod with 2 to 6 size flys all day and not tire. My furthest cast was 60', but in the hands of an expert I believe more could be reached. The finish is Loomis quality and exceptional value in my opinion.
Cons: None that I could find.
Other Thoughts: With a 7 Wt. line I believe this rod would really shine.
