May Fly Magnetic Net Release - Accessories | Large

Description of the May Fly Magnetic Net Release - Accessories:

The MayFly Magnetic Net Release is the best available. The Magnets are super strong and they do not weigh as much as other options. The magnet is self connecting, you do not need to use both hands or even be able to see it to re-connect. Simply get the two halves close to each other and they will snap back together. To release the net give a firm tug and the magnets will release.

The MayFly Net Release system comes with soft nylon webbing to attach to the bow of the net. This will keep the net material up and out of the way. It also comes with a locking carabiner for you to attach where the split rings will not work. It has a bungee tether to help keep track of your net and the tether has a snap to allow easy removal from your vest.

  • Nylon webbing to attach to the bow of the net
  • Locking carabiner for attaching options
  • Bungee tether with a quick snap

Pros: It doesn't tangle and get caught in my fly line like the "coiled stretch" chords such as Orvis. Convenient & easy to use. The magnets are nice and easily attach when close enough to each other, no better than the Orvis ones though. The green color is a nice touch.
Cons: Don't care much for the large "clip"/carabineer. I could be smaller. The rings will probably corrode after some time on the water, as they look like normal key rings, stainless steel would have been better. If it would have cost a little more, it would have been worth it.
    Great release

Pros: Rock solid magnet. I never have a fear of losing my net. A good pull and it releases, then all it takes is getting your net in the neighborhood for reattachment. Highly recommended.
Cons: Carabiner is OK. I swapped mine out for an ultralight gated carabiner.
