| The Ghost Midge series of midge larvae was developed for tricky tailwaters of the Western Rocky Mountains by Utah fly fishing guide, Jake Ricks. Flies like the Disco Midge had shown themselves to be somewhat effective midge larva imitations but heavily pressured fish seemed to reject them due to too much flash and glare. Jake discovered that by covering a thin pearl rib with a translucent material you could create a visible fly that glowed from within but didn't shine. The fly was named by fellow guide and friend, Spencer Higa and the Ghost Midge was born.
