Description of the Gray Paramerger - Fly:

The Gray Paramerger is a very effective fly for imitating the emergent stage of the mayfly, which is the precursor stage to the dun. Many fly fishermen aren’t aware of the critical importance of this stage in the mayfly’s existence, many times leading to their confusion and frustration. Trout can become critically selective during Mayfly hatches and a pattern such as the Gray Paramerger can be the difference in a successful trip. This fly should occupy a spot in your fly box alongside your more impressionistic Mayfly patterns.

Pros: This is one of my favorite midge patterns to fish. The fly is easy to spot and I have found that emerger patterns have been more productive that most of the adult patterns in my box.
Cons: None that I can think of!
