Rio Grand Floating Fly Line - Lines | Large

Description of the Rio Grand Floating Fly Line - Lines:

The RIO Grand is state-of-the-art in fly line technology with distinctive benefits for the trout fly fisher. The tip floats extremely high due to RIO's proprietary manufacturing process, yet gives a smooth light delivery of even the smallest dry fly. The weight forward taper features a slightly heavier load to activate the faster modern fly rod, yet the rear taper is long enough for roll casting. The line is the product of RIO's SlickShooterâ„¢ Process and incorporates a supple coldwater, super slick, self-lubricating, dirt-resistant coating on a nylon multifilament core. This is the perfect line for wet or dry fly fishing. RIO has included a welded loop on the front end of the fly line to facilitate changing leaders. In all our tests we have found excellent turnover and presentation with this loop. When landing fish, it slides through the rod guides more easily than the customary nail knot. Traditionalists can cut this loop off and not compromise the taper.

Pros: Being that my favorite streams are still buried under 2ft of snow, not much chance to fish yet! Did go into a canyon about 5500' and was happy with the product! What moved me to buy from River Bum was I'd always been treated well there. Good service, prompt, good web design. Rio is a superior product. Thanks

Pros: Great color, nice and subtle
Cons: The price of Rio's lines
Other Thoughts: Wish they were a little less expensive but at least Riverbum has as good of pricing as anyone out there.

Pros: It is slick and delivers the fly nicely. Floatation is good and mending is easy. Nothing really negative thing to say about it. I like the loop for the leader and it compliments my Sage XP 5 wt nicely.
Cons: A bit on the expensive side but nothing like the overpriced Sharkskin line.

Pros: As stated, this line tip floats extremely high, effectively acting like a strike indicator while nymphing. It also provides smooth presentation of dry flies. I enjoy the welded loop, which has been less prone to catching on the guides vs. a nail knot. Overall, a smooth casting line worth the investment.
Cons: none
