The Vibram soled boots will be a big step forward in anglers' fight against aquatic nuisance species - organisms like didymo, whirling disease and New Zealand mud snails that are transferred to other waterways via felt and matter caught on the boots. Already, New Zealand has banned felt-soled boots and some states are asking anglers to avoid using felt soled shoes. Additionally, Simms boots and waders are designed with the “CleanStream™ technology,”. This philosophy and design uses materials and production techniques to make it more difficult for microorganisms to attach and makes Simms wading gear easier to properly clean.

Pros: Easy break-in Darn comfortable Great construction Good lacing system Great Soles
Cons: I have not found any yet.
Other Thoughts: I purchased these boots to replace an older pair of felt-soled Simms Freestone boots. When I wear these out, I will not hesitate to buy yet another pair.

Pros: durable, rugged, comfortable,
Cons: Still getting used to the new soles as opposed to the felt soles I've fished with for so many years.. Considering that a few of the rivers that I fish here in the midatlantic US contain a major bloom of Dydimo, it is reassuring to know that I have boots that should be much more resistant to transferring this problematic algae.
Other Thoughts: Some of the best boots one can hope/ask for.
