Pros: This winter I found the time to get up to Northern California several times to chase some steelhead, but unlike last year the bite was tough until I zeroed in on this Brown Wired Bead Head Nymph. I had discovered a good bite on the Brown Rubber Legged Stonefly and when my buddy noticed that I was tearing them up he asked for one. While I tend to be a giving sort of guy, the fact that I only had two of the other flies w/ me and still three days left in the trip I tossed him a couple of these and he was able to duplicate my bite. |

Cons: I didn't find any downsides to this fly other than it's a bit tricky to fish in the skinny water as it gets down deep rather quickly. |

Other Thoughts: Toward the end of the trip I started using this fly in the deeper holes, as the thin profile and bead head allowed it to get down into the "money zone" a bit more quickly.
Thanks again for your great service! |
