Description of the William Joseph Catalyst - Packs:

Just as the name implies, this pack brings it all together; the fish, the water and the gear. And when it comes to equipment for water, this is one of the finest pieces we have ever put together. Self containment has never been so sleek and comfortable.

The William Joseph Catalyst is build on the foundation of the new Willy J Air Track Suspension. It will keep you cool and comfortable while neatly housing a plethora of gear and essentials. The Catalyst offers water bottles and a turbo sized work station to accommodate fresh or salt water requirements. Two convenient but sometimes useless side pockets allow you to store toothpicks, paper clips and maybe some string.

The Zip-No™ system utilizes rare earth magnets, which we have converted into rope like strands that are actually sewn into place. The result is a watertight seal which closes exactly and perfectly under any condition every time

Features
  • Zip-No™ closure system
  • William Joseph's patented AIRTRACK System
  • TCS (Tippet Control System)
  • Molded foam work station for precise deployment.
  • Strainless steel retractors
  • Dual water bottle holders (bottles included)
  • 1.5 inch waist belt keeps things snug and secure
  • Low profile gear loop and carry handle.
  • Integrated hip wrap design
  • Neck Strap included

Really nice pack
Rating: 5 of 5 [5 of 5]
Reviewed by: Denny on 11/12/2010
Experience Level: Amatuer - Ownership: 1 - 4 Months
Pros: Lots of different compartments, storage space for everything I need. It has a foam insert for those large flies that wont fit into your regular fly box, which is a nice addition. It's very ergonomic in its design; there are retractable clip cables on both sides of the pack in the front for your hemostat and nipper. Fits snugly and comfortably around me. Has a pouch in front for your reel and has webbed compartments within the zipped region and in the front for holding your drink and fish grip.
Cons: Not many, the neck strap and waist area can get a bit warm after wearing it for some time, and the material can be prone to snagging and minor fraying (pretty much exclusive to the trim). This can easily fixed with a lighter or match.
Other Thoughts: I really like it for it's simplicity. All I grab is my rod tube and this and I'm out the door.
Very nice pack

Pros: Very nice quality construction, excellent pack with well thought out placement and ergonomics. You will not be disappointed with this pack.
Cons: None that I see so far.
Other Thoughts: The foam that holds the flies is a velcro attachment for replacement purposes.

Pros: Great fanny pack with lots of storage. Great idea to have a built-in tippet holder. Very comfortable fit and love the double built-in retractors.
Cons: Offer this fanny pack in other colors. Built-in humidor would be nice!!!
Other Thoughts: Keep it up William Joseph. Your product is Hands Down, THE BEST!

Pros: Have the Catalyst in Orange and took it immediately to Brooks River in Alaska and it performed above expectations. Much more space/room than I expected. Well built and engineered. It's nice to have everything right in front of you.
Cons: Zippers took some getting used as they're fairly close together.

Pros: I have WJs Catalyst in orange. I love it because its lightweight and have this 2 bottle holders, perfect for long hikes. I use the side pockets to store small object (like my keys). Ive had my Catalyst for 2 years now and for something that have been through a lot, it still looks good!
Cons: None
