Description of the Yellow Sally, Extended Body - Fly:

The Extended Body Yellow Sally was designed by RiverBum's own Jake Ricks to imitate this important, yet under-appreciated member of the Stonefly family. The Extended Body Yellow Sally Stonefly presents a more realistic slim and low profile to imitate this important trout food item, which is the only stonefly that hatches midstream.

Pros: This is the best Yellow Sally imitation that I've come across. I caught a huge brown on it one night a few weeks ago when there were a bunch of sallies out. If you look at Yellow Sallies they are skinny and ride low in the water. Other flies like small Yellow Stimulators are fine when fish aren't really keyed in but when they see lots of Sallies I go to this one and have seen much better success on educated trout.
Cons: The only problem I've seen is that these things can land upside down occasionally. If you make sure the hackle is trimmed so its flat on the bottom and make sure the wing is fluffed with floatant it seems to land and float better.

Pros: Good looking bug, but one of many I have used that looked good in the fly box that didn't land many fish.
Cons: This bug just doesn't get the fish I would have hoped for. It doesn't float that naturally in the water, which could be the reason, I'm not sure, but I have many refusals on this bug without many fish.
